Mike Lawton - General Manager

• RYA International Race Officer
• Member of RYA Race Management Committee
• National Judge

Mike is responsible for teaching at all levels – Yachts and Dinghies including International Award Sailing Expeditions. A dedicated sailor, Mike won his first National at the age of 14; was a member of the British Team in 470’s, Flying Dutchman and 505 classes. Raced extensively offshore in many classes, more recently Kerr 11.3’s in UK. Coached Olympic dinghy classes in UK and USA to medal winners; developed special team boats for UK and USA. Established Thai National Yachting team – Coached Thai teams in many dinghy classes to a total of 10 medals. Established and trained Race Management and Thai Judges for South East Asian Games. Race Committee Chairman and Principal Race Officer for many World ranked events.

Christine Lawton - Marketing Manager

Looks after the nuts and bolts of running the Academy: Sponsorship, Certification; Schools Programmes; Exchange visits and Administration. Past sailing experience includes International racing - 470 crew; silver medalist.

Mark Russell - Instructor

• RYA Yachtmaster (Commercial Endorsement)
• RYA Windsurfing Instructor

Mark has vast experience as a racing sailor in both dinghies and yachts - Corporate sailing on 67’ and 72’ Global Challenge; Flotillas in Croatia and Activity Centre: Nothern France; Dinghy Instructor: Caldecotte Project UK. His other interests include climbing, athletics, volleyball and cycling.

Simon Kearns - Instructor

Simon is involved with our schools activities classes and Race Training. He has a great deal of experience working with children and young adults. He comes to us from the Royal Yachting Association UK where he was Youth Sailing Squad Coach.

Bekzod - Instructor

Bex assists on the water and looking after guests; his prime responsibility is the rigging and maintenance of our large dinghy fleet; our chandlery and sailing clothing.
