Over 60 racing sailors from over 16 different countries have made a strong start to the Autumn racing series at the Regatta Sailing Academy.

Under the direction of racing coach, Simon Kearns, and assistant, Liam Reece,  Adult, Ladies and Junior racing fleets have now completed two weeks of race training including  close boat handling exercises,  rules application and racing scenarios.

Racing, which takes place off the beach of the Intercontinental Hotel West Bay, Doha has been extremely close with  boats  only seconds apart at the finish after 25 minutes or more of racing. Courses have varied from long high speed race courses to tactical courses where sailors have had to navigate safe passage through rocks and other obstructions in order to win their races.

After four races of their sixteen planned races in this series the current leaders are Sally Cronin, Francesca Quinto, Rob Munster, Robbie Witzmann and Petar Vuk Avramovic. However with a change in wind forecast for this coming weekend and only a few points separating almost all the competitors, the overall racing results are still all to play for.
