The racing is split into four categories: Adult Racing, Adult Learn To Race, Child Racing and Child Learn To Race. These take place on Friday mornings, Friday afternoons. Saturday mornings and Saturday afternoons respectively. There is also a Ladies racing series that takes place during the week.
Each series is split into 8 week segments with either 2 or 3 hours of racing per week. Prizes are awarded for students with the best overall score, and the best improvement at the end of the series.
Each race is calculated using the Portsmouth Yardstick (PY) boat handicap numbers, which allow different fleets to compete together.
